Morning: Your journey begins with a comfortable minivan ride from Ho Chi Minh City to the lush Mekong Delta, Vietnam’s most fertile and culturally vibrant region. Enjoy a relaxing drive through scenic rice fields, small villages, and fruit orchards that stretch endlessly along the roadside.
Your first stop will be at the Vinh Trang Pagoda, a century-old Buddhist temple blending Vietnamese, Chinese, and Khmer architectural styles. This peaceful site is adorned with giant Buddha statues and intricate wood carvings, symbolizing the spiritual heart of the Mekong Delta.
Continue to My Tho City, where your Mekong adventure truly begins. Board a traditional wooden boat and gently cruise along the mighty Mekong River, passing floating houses and fish farms that showcase the resourceful way of life in this region.
Arriving at Ben Tre Province, known as the “Kingdom of Coconuts,” you will explore a small coconut island. Visit a local workshop to observe how coconuts are processed into various products such as candy, oil, and crafts. Next, stop at a local family’s home to taste honey tea, tropical fruits, and handmade snacks, while enjoying a performance of Đờn Ca Tài Tử – the soulful traditional folk music recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Afternoon: take a short break to relax or explore nearby villages before heading to Can Tho City, the capital of the Mekong Delta. Dinner on your own. Overnight stay in a 3-star hotel in Can Tho.
Note: The itinerary for Day 1 may be adjusted depending on the day and local conditions. Alternative route: Instead of Vinh Trang Pagoda and Thoi Son Island, the tour may visit Cai Be, including Ba Kiet Ancient House, a boat trip on the Tien River, a coconut candy workshop, and a Đờn Ca Tài Tử traditional music performance.
