Japan's Golden Route: Osaka – Kyoto – Shirakawago – Fuji – Tokyo – Narita
NIGHT 1: HO CHI MINH CITY – KANSAI (OVERNIGHT ON BOARD) Evening: Arrive at Tan Son Nhat International Airport. Your tour leader will meet and assist you with check-in for Vietnam Airlines flight VN320 SGN-KIX at 00:10 to Osaka. Spend the night on board.
DAY 1: KANSAI – OSAKA – KYOTO (BREAKFAST ON BOARD, LUNCH, DINNER)
Morning: Upon arrival at Kansai Airport, your local guide will greet you, and you'll head to Osaka for sightseeing.
- Visit and take photos outside Osaka Castle, a historical landmark and one of Japan's three great castles, admired for its ancient and imposing beauty.
- Enjoy free time for shopping at Shinsaibashi & Dotonbori, known for world-famous brands and vibrant nightlife.
Lunch: Enjoy a Grilled Beef lunch. Afterward, depart for Kyoto for sightseeing.
- Explore Sagano Bamboo Grove, a famous Kyoto landmark where emerald-green bamboo stalks sway with the wind, creating a serene and captivating atmosphere.
- Visit Togetsu-kyo Bridge, an ancient bridge originally built during the Heian period, offering picturesque views.
- Stroll through Arashiyama Old Town, known for its charming streets and delicious local food.
Afternoon: Depart for Gifu, a livable region in Japan.
Evening: Have dinner and check into your hotel. Enjoy free time to explore Gifu at night.
DAY 2: GIFU – KAMIKOCHI – MATSUMOTO (BREAKFAST, LUNCH, DINNER)
Morning: Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and check out. Then, depart for sightseeing.
- Visit Shirakawago Ancient Village, a UNESCO World Heritage site recognized in 1995 for its unique 300-year-old Gassho-zukuri (praying hands) architectural style, characterized by steeply sloped roofs.
- Travel to Matsumoto. Explore Kamikochi, often called "Little Switzerland of Japan," a stunning valley within Chubu-Sangaku National Park. This 15km long valley, located at 1,500m above sea level within the Hida Mountains (Northern Japanese Alps), offers breathtaking natural beauty, surrounded by peaks like Hotakadake and the Yakedake volcano (perfect for autumn foliage viewing).
Lunch: Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Afterward, continue sightseeing.
- Check-in at Matsumoto Castle, regarded as the most beautiful medieval castle architecture. Known for its striking black and white contrast, it's also called "Crow Castle (Karasujo)." This over 400-year-old castle remains a proud symbol of Japan and a must-visit destination.
Evening: Have dinner and check into your hotel for the night.
DAY 3: MATSUMOTO – MOUNT FUJI – YAMANASHI (BREAKFAST, LUNCH, DINNER)
Morning: Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and check out. Depart for Yamanashi for sightseeing.
- Visit a Fruit Orchard to enjoy fresh, seasonal fruits (grapes, strawberries, cherries, peaches, plums, pears, etc.) that are particularly sweet and chemical-free. Experience the joy of picking ripe, sweet fruits yourself and tasting them on the spot.
- Visit Momiji Kairo, also known as the Maple Leaf Corridor or Tunnel, near Lake Kawaguchi in Yamanashi Prefecture. The Momiji Kairo Maple Festival takes place here at the end of October each year (ideal for autumn foliage viewing).
Lunch: Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Afterward, continue sightseeing.
- Visit Mount Fuji, Japan's highest peak, formed by volcanic activity that began approximately 100,000 years ago. It is not only a famous symbol of Japan but also a significant spiritual site and a source of artistic inspiration, frequently appearing in paintings, photographs, literature, and music. The vehicle will take you to the 5th station at 2300m (weather permitting).
- Explore Oshino Hakkai Ancient Village, where you can leisurely stroll along narrow dirt paths, densely lined with green pine bushes and colorful flowerbeds.
Evening: Check into your hotel and have dinner. Enjoy wearing a Yukata and relaxing in an Onsen hot spring bath, a traditional therapeutic bathing style unique to Japan.
DAY 4: YAMANASHI – TOKYO – NARITA (BREAKFAST, LUNCH, DINNER)
Morning: Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and check out. Depart for Yokohama.
- Experience the Shinkansen (bullet train) from Shin-Yokohama to Shinagawa (1 station) – Japan's famously safe high-speed train, known for its incredible speed and smooth journey. At speeds up to 450km/h, you'll glimpse picturesque landscapes outside your window.
- Afterward, the vehicle will take you to Tokyo, Japan's largest city, for sightseeing.
- Visit Tokyo Imperial Palace (Imperial Palace) – The Tokyo Imperial Palace, though destroyed during World War II, was grandly rebuilt. Formerly the residence of shoguns and then the Emperor, its buildings and inner gardens are generally not open to visitors.
- Visit Meiji-jingu Gaien, a beautiful spot for autumn foliage viewing in Tokyo. In autumn, the ginkgo trees create a famous golden leaf tunnel before shedding their leaves, leaving impressive bare trunks against the clear winter sky. This straight avenue, lined with about 150 ginkgo trees, leads to the Meiji Memorial Picture Gallery, creating a picturesque scene.
Lunch: Enjoy lunch while watching a Geisha Show in Tokyo. Afterward, continue sightseeing.
- Visit and shop in Akihabara Electronics Town, the world's leading electronics district, famous in Japan for its numerous stores selling home electronics, computer components, video games, anime, and manga.
DAY 5: NARITA – HO CHI MINH CITY (BREAKFAST, LUNCH ON BOARD)
Morning: Enjoy a light breakfast at the hotel, then the vehicle will transfer you to Narita International Airport for your flight VN301 back to Ho Chi Minh City, departing at 09:30. Arrive at Tan Son Nhat International Airport. End of the program.
