Rise early for a sunrise game drive on the Kasenyi Plains, where the golden light illuminates the park’s vast savannah. This is prime time to spot lions, elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, and if lucky, leopards. Bird lovers will also enjoy sightings of crowned cranes, lapwings, and raptors soaring above.
Return to the lodge for breakfast and leisure time, then head out for an afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a natural waterway connecting Lake Edward and Lake George. The channel is teeming with wildlife hippos wallowing, crocodiles sunning, elephants and buffaloes drinking, and hundreds of water birds line the banks.
As the sun sets, the scenery becomes even more magical. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, set off for the Ishasha Sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, a region famous for its tree-climbing lions, a rare behavior seen in only a few places in Africa. Lions can often be seen lounging on the branches of fig trees, surveying the antelope-filled plains below.
Enjoy a game drive through this unique landscape, spotting lions, elephants, topis, and more. Have a picnic lunch, then continue your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to half the world’s remaining mountain gorillas.
Arrive at your forest lodge in the late afternoon, check in, and relax in the cool mountain air as you prepare for the highlight of your safari tomorrow.

Today is the highlight of your safari. After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for a gorilla trekking briefing. Led by experienced rangers and trackers, venture deep into the misty jungles of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in search of one of the habituated gorilla families.
The trek can take between 2 to 6 hours depending on the gorillas’ location, but the reward is an awe-inspiring hour spent in the presence of these gentle giants. Watch juveniles play, mothers care for infants, and the dominant silverback keep watch over his group — a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Return to your lodge to relax, or opt for an optional cultural visit to the Batwa community to learn about their traditional forest lifestyle.
