This 7-day Russian odyssey captures the imperial grandeur and spiritual depth of the world’s largest nation, transitioning from the power of Moscow to the artistic elegance of St. Petersburg. You will stand in the heart of Red Square, explore the treasures of the Kremlin Armory, and journey to the "religious capital" of Sergiev Posad to witness the fairy-tale domes of the Holy Trinity St. Sergius Lavra. The adventure continues via a high-speed Sapsan train to the "Venice of the North," where you will marvel at the world-class masterpieces of the Hermitage Museum and explore the historic Peter and Paul Fortress, the final resting place of the Russian Tsars.
Itinerary Overview
The journey begins with your arrival and a welcome briefing in Moscow on Day 1, followed by a Day 2 city tour featuring St. Basil’s Cathedral, the Kremlin, and the historic Arbat district. Day 3 offers an excursion to the ancient art center of Sergiev Posad, with an optional evening tour of Moscow’s famous "Palace" metro stations. On Day 4, you will travel by high-speed rail to St. Petersburg, where Day 5 introduces the city’s architectural grace at Palace Square and the Peter and Paul Cathedral. Day 6 is headlined by a highlight visit to the State Hermitage Museum and optional tours to the fountains of Peterhof, concluding with a farewell dinner before your departure on Day 7.

Travel Itinerary
Upon arrival in Moscow, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is to relax or perhaps begin your independent discovery of the fabled capital of Russia. Tonight, a briefing by your Tour Director on the fascinating tour that awaits you, followed by a Welcome Dinner.
Today we travel 75 km North of Moscow, to a small town of Sergiev Posad, former Zagorsk, founded in the 14th century and renowned as a center of ancient Russian art and architecture. For centuries it served as a place of pilgrimage and the religious capital of Russia. Within the old walled city admire the fairy-tale golden and blue domes of the Holy Trinity St. Sergius Lavra, one of the most beautiful of all monasteries. After lunch at a popular restaurant, return to Moscow, the rest of the day at leisure. This evening take an optional tour Moscow by night & Subway, to see the metro stations which Stalin called “Palaces for the People.”
Time at leisure in Moscow, before transfer to the railway station for our four hours high-speed Sapsan Train ride to St. Petersburg. Upon arrival at the St. Petersburg Train Station, transfer to your hotel. Dinner at the hotel. Join an optional Russian Folklore evening.
Terms of Service
Tour Schedule: Sightseeing tours operate according to the 7-day program led by a Tour Director. Optional excursions, such as the Moscow Subway tour or the St. Petersburg Canal Cruise, may require additional on-site payments.
Pick-up: Arrival transfers are provided at Moscow Airports (SVO/DME/VKO) and departure transfers at St. Petersburg Pulkovo Airport (LED). The tour includes the transfer to and from the railway stations for the Sapsan train.
Duration: This is a 7-day multi-city tour. The high-speed Sapsan train ride typically takes 4 hours, and the excursion to Sergiev Posad involves a 75km drive each way.
Note: The Hermitage Museum is vast and occupies five buildings; the tour focuses on major masterpieces, but independent exploration is encouraged during leisure time.
Important: Entrance fees for the Armory Museum, Lavra Monastery, Peter and Paul Fortress, and the Hermitage are included in the guided portions. Please be aware that certain government buildings or cathedrals may have security protocols or dress codes (covering shoulders/knees).
