Conimbriga is a veritable pearl of the Roman legacy left in Portugal... a city of enormous dimensions, constantly undergoing archaeological excavations (a never-ending job), it is currently in the process of applying to become a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The extraordinary fountain house, the walls, the cantaber house, the forum, or the museum... are some of the great attractions to see. The tour also includes a visit to the arches of the Roman amphitheater, located in the neighboring village of Conimbriga, Condeixa-a-Velha (a 10-minute walk from Conimbriga). Conimbriga is located between Lisbon and Porto, near the city of Coimbra. It is easily accessible. Ways to get there from Coimbra: by car, by bus (from Coimbra), and taxis and Ubers are also quite affordable from Coimbra.
