Itinerary Overview
This 9-day cross-border safari offers an unforgettable journey through East Africa’s most iconic wildlife destinations in Kenya and Tanzania. Starting in the world-renowned Maasai Mara National Reserve, guests will experience exceptional game viewing, including the Big Five and, seasonally, the Great Migration.
The adventure continues across the border into Tanzania, exploring the vast plains of Serengeti National Park, the wildlife-rich Ngorongoro Crater—a UNESCO World Heritage Site—and the scenic Lake Manyara National Park, known for its tree-climbing lions and birdlife.
This safari blends dramatic landscapes, diverse ecosystems, and authentic cultural encounters, delivering a seamless and immersive East African experience.
Travel Itinerary
Depart Nairobi and drive through the Great Rift Valley with a scenic stopover for breathtaking views. Continue to the Maasai Mara, arriving in time for lunch at your lodge or camp. In the afternoon, enjoy your first game drive in search of lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, cheetahs, and more.
Spend a full day exploring the vast plains of the Maasai Mara. With an early morning and afternoon game drive, you will have excellent opportunities to spot the Big Five and witness the incredible wildlife action the reserve is famous for. Optional activities such as a visit to a Maasai village or a hot air balloon safari may be arranged at an additional cost.
After breakfast, depart Maasai Mara and travel to Lake Nakuru National Park. Arrive in time for lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive. Lake Nakuru is known for its rhino sanctuary, flamingos, Rothschild’s giraffes, and rich birdlife, all set against beautiful lake scenery.
Enjoy an early morning game drive in Lake Nakuru before departing for Lake Naivasha. Upon arrival, relax at your lodge and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of this fresh-water lake region. Optional activities include a boat ride to see hippos and water birds or a walking safari on Crescent Island.
