Itinerary Overview
This 3-day private safari to Ol Pejeta Conservancy offers an exceptional blend of wildlife encounters and conservation experiences in one of Kenya’s most renowned protected areas. Organized by Jossec Safaris, this journey takes you to the foothills of Mount Kenya, where vast savannahs meet rich wildlife habitats.
Ol Pejeta is home to the Big Five, the largest population of black rhinos in East Africa, and the last two remaining northern white rhinos in the world. The safari also includes a visit to the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, making it one of the few destinations in Kenya where you can experience both traditional game viewing and primate conservation.
This is a private safari designed for a minimum of two people, offering personalized service in a 4x4 safari jeep, ensuring flexibility, comfort, and an intimate wildlife experience.
Travel Itinerary
You will be picked up from your hotel in Nairobi by the Jossec Safaris team, followed by a short briefing about your safari. Begin your journey north through the scenic central highlands, passing coffee and tea plantations with views of Mount Kenya on a clear day.
Arrive at your lodge or camp in time for lunch and some relaxation. In the afternoon, head out for your first game drive in Ol Pejeta Conservancy. This wildlife-rich reserve offers excellent chances to spot elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, and various antelope species. A highlight of the day is visiting the rhino sanctuary, where you will meet Najin and Fatu, the last remaining northern white rhinos.
Return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight. An optional night game drive can be arranged at an extra cost.
After breakfast, depart for a morning game drive when animals are most active. Look out for predators such as lions and hyenas, along with endangered black rhinos and other plains game.
Later, visit the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, the only place in Kenya where rescued chimpanzees are rehabilitated and cared for. This visit provides a deeper understanding of conservation efforts and the protection of endangered species.
Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation before heading out again for an afternoon game drive. As the sun sets, the conservancy offers breathtaking views with Mount Kenya in the background, creating perfect moments for photography and wildlife observation.
