In this combined tour, you will explore the rock-hewn churches of Lalibela and the otherworldly landscapes of the Danakil Depression on this 5-day tour and visit the most famous churches in Lalibela, including the famous Bet Giyorgis, and see the colorful Dallol geothermal site.
Travel Itinerary
You'll visit the rock-hewn churches that have been here for at least 900 years and include an active Christian shrine, the spiritual center of the country's religious life.
Visit the Northwestern Clusters of churches, including Bet Medhane Alem, Bet Maryam, Bet Meskel, Bet Danagel, Bet Mikael, and Golgotha.
After lunch, you'll continue to visit the Southeastern Cluster of Lalibela churches —Bet Gabriel-Rafael, Bet Merkorios, Bet Amanual, and Bet Abba Libanos. Finally, you'll visit the most famous of all the churches —Bet Giyorgis, a huge monolith in the shape of a cross, constructed in honor of St. George, the patron saint of Ethiopia.

Terms of Service
- Booking 1.1 Bookings will be effective after confirmation by Essence Ethiopia Tours. 1.2 Before confirmation of the booking by Essence Ethiopia Tours, the client has to agree with the offered itinerary, the total tour price, and the Terms and Conditions as provided.
- Payment 2.1 At the time of confirmation, a 30% deposit of the total confirmed tour price is required. 2.2 The remaining 70% of the total confirmed tour price is payable before or upon arrival, prior to the commencement of the confirmed tour. 2.3 If complete payment has not been made as per above, Essence Ethiopia Tours is not obliged to conduct the tour.
- Price Adjustment 3.1 Essence Ethiopia Tours reserves the right to adjust the total confirmed tour price in case of any unforeseen price increment after confirmation of the booking up to 49 days before the start of the tour. The client has the right to reject this increment in which case Essence Ethiopia Tours will cancel the confirmed booking and in such an event only agrees to refund all monies already paid and received from the client.
- Cancellation 4.1 Any cancellation of a confirmed booking must be done in writing. Cancellations are subject to the following charges:
- 49 days or more prior to departure: a handling fee of 75 USD. 29 days to 48 days prior to departure: 20% of the total confirmed tour price 8 days to 28 days prior to departure: 50% of the total confirmed tour price 7 days or less prior to departure: 100% of the total confirmed tour price 4.2 Special cancellation fees may apply for third-party bookings.
